The Bedale Hunt Supporters Club works tirelessly in raising money for the hunt by organising a wide range of fund-raising activities throughout the year such as Hunt Breakfasts, Fun Rides, the Kennels Open Day, Hunter Trial and a variety of social events.
The aim of the BHSC is to work for the good of the Bedale Hunt and welfare of the Bedale Hounds.
The Supporters’ Club was formed over 30 years ago, records show that there has always been a very active Farmers’ Committee raising funds and helping with a variety of tasks within the country, which is now carried on by the BHSC. The Committee consists of 10 to 15 members.
A number of events are held during the year including a Hunter Trial in October, catering at Pleasure Rides, breakfasts etc. During the Season a Whisky Raffle is run amongst the car followers each hunting day which creates a very friendly atmosphere and encourages all to become involved.
More recently The Supporters Club started a Hound Sponsorship scheme, whereby you can sponsor a hound for £15 per year. For further details please contact Paul Pobinson.
There is a thriving Membership list which entitles everyone to receive an Appointments Card, newsletters and details of all events and activities. The subscription rates are £15 single or £25 for a couple.
There is also a wide range of merchandise to purchase including clothing, ties, tea towels, postcards and a calendar.
As a result of fundraising events, the BHSC in recent times has been able to provide the Bedale Kennels with a flesh trailer, ride-on lawnmower, steam cleaner and redecorated the cottages as well as building the whelping lodges etc. All vaccinations, wormers and microchips for Hounds are funded by Members’ Subscriptions.
New members and committee members are more than welcome to become involved in the activities and new ideas for fund raising are always appreciated.
It is a great way of getting involved or just staying in touch.
